Working together, we can put an end to child abuse and neglect in Aotearoa! We are excited to have you as part of the safeguarding team working towards this goal.

To support the week and help our children live a life free of abuse, here are some ideas you can use to raise awareness and promote campaign involvement to your audience.

Supporter Toolkit 2024

Find out what to do during the campaign by signing up to Child Safeguarding Week. Encourage others to sign up too. This is a great way to stay informed of news and updates leading up to and during the week.

Raise awareness about this year’s theme – Keeping kids safe online. With knowledge, most abuse can be prevented or interrupted. Share information available on the Child Safeguarding Week website to help keep children safe. Promote these links:

These links can be found on the Child Safeguarding Week website Get Involved page under the section Knowledge is Key.

The following statements are key messages we would like to convey with Child Safeguarding Week. Please use these in any of your communications:

“Keep kids safe online”

“Every week should be Child Safeguarding Week”

“Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility”

When appropriate, please include hashtag #childsafeguardingweek in any post.

Add a Child Safeguarding Week banner to your email signature. Download one of the banner options from the Resource section of the Child Safeguarding Week website Get Involved page.

Take your banner to the next level and add a Child Safeguarding Week website link. In your signature settings, select the banner image and click on the last button of the signature format toolbar (the one with the hyperlink icon). Enter the hyperlink URL (www.childsafeguardingweek.org.nz) in the address field and click ‘OK’.
