Netsafe revisits their animated video series about online safety for kids
Netsafe has rebooted it’s animated video project ‘Hector’s World‘ from 15 years ago which uses a cartoon dolphin named Hector and his friends to teach young kids online safety. Building on the successful launch of Hector’s World back in 2007, and with hundreds of thousands of online views in countries around the world, it was time to update the original series. Bringing fresh and relevant content to today’s digital natives and the issues they face as they grow up online, this engaging bilingual series has been expertly refined for children aged 5 – 10.
With only 57% of Kiwi parents actively monitoring their kids’ online activity, Netsafe want to equip all parents with the tools to inspire online safety conversations. Hector’s World is supported with over 60 purpose-built resources and activities to extend learning beyond the screen. This is an invaluable tool for educators and families wanting to instill positive online habits and prevent harm before it happens.
